Party Poker Review - Freerolls at PartyPoker.com & PartyPoker.net
Not Very Many Freerolls
Party Poker does offer a couple of neat freerolls for new players though. One of them is a freeroll JUST for new players, that all new players are invited to. They also offer real money players for newbies only, which is another neat way of letting new players get acclimated to how online poker works. These are relatively recent additions to Party's offerings, but they're welcome and innovative additions. Free Entry to a Party Poker Million QualifierThe exciting freeroll that's available from PartyPoker currently is the free entry to the Party Poker Million satellite tourney. It's a $34 value, but if you're good, and you're lucky, you could parlay that into a really big cash prize for yourself. The Party Poker Million is a limit holdem tournament, and it's held on a cruise that leaves on March 12, 2006. This is the 5th Party Poker Million tournament. If you don't already have an account at PartyPoker, then please sign up through the below link in order to receive your free entry into the Party Poker Million V qualifier: You can read more about the tournament here: WPT Party Poker Million V. More Observations About Free Poker at Party PokerPartyPoker.net is the "online poker school" aspect of Party Poker, and that's where you can play free poker, or poker for play money. There are plenty of players taking advantage of this at Party, and there's no reason you can't have a lot of fun playing for the play money there for the rest of your life. We know lots of players who prefer not to risk real money online, and bragging rights and a big chip stack of play money can have psychological rewards. If you do make a real money deposit at Party Poker, you can receive one of 3 sign up bonus offers which will add free money to your bankroll to play with:
Click on any of the links above to get the bonus associated with it. Leave the bonus code field blank; we've set the links above to automatically award your bonus to you with no bonus code necessary. Party Poker SoftwareParty Poker's software is NOT Mac-compatible, so don't try to download it if you're a Mac user. Their software isn't big, at 2.72MB, but it is quality poker software, functional if not fancy. The look and feel of the software hasn't changed much since Party Poker opened its doors in 2001, but it's still okay to look and functional. The software does have a few drawbacks:
The note-taking and buddy program functionality is fine, and the software runs quick. You're also able to create private tables for your friends, which is not something that's available at most other poker rooms online. More Things to Like About Party PokerPossibly the most important aspect of a poker room to consider is how good the games are there. And usually when a poker player is talking about a game being good, they mean there are a lot of fish playing. Playing at a place with a lot of poor players is good for experienced and new players. Experienced players can make more profit from the large pool of new players, and the new players can keep up because the ratio of poor players to good players is good for them. Other Party Poker TourneysParty does have a wide variety of tourneys available, even if they don't have many freerolls. If you're a low limit player with a small bankroll that you'd like to parlay into a bigger bankroll, the new Party Poker step tournaments offer a great way to play your way up the ladder and get a lot of experience at a very low cost. You can buy into sub-qualifiers then win your way up to a point where you're competing for a few $grand, which is nice. There are also frequent low buy-in qualifiers to the larger tournaments that Party Poker makes available. You can almost always find a qualifier for a big tournament with a buy-in of just $5 + $1 or $10 + $1. If you're playing on a freeroller's budget, then this kind of thing is just the kind of thing you're looking. ConclusionParty Poker has a lot of perks for freerollers, in spite of their lack of freerolls. A smart player with a small budget can work his way up through the ranks at Party because there is frankly a lot of opportunity there. Party also offers all kinds of free poker games played with play money. They have more players at these free tables than any other cardoom online, so they're worth checking out if that's your cup of tea. This review of Party Poker was last updated on February 22, 2006.
